Two Articles for Today

For Today I would like to take the pleasure of bringing back a week old article regarding one of our republic candidates. Some of you might recall Mitt Romney as just the Mormon candidate. But to many this candidate means more and to some, he is a curse to the nation. In the following article read what he has to say about his Mormon beliefs. I found the whole situation to be a bit ironic. The funny part about this election is that we have the most diverse candidates running for our most highest honor in our country. Yet we doubt the morals and intentions of these people.

The other funny thing is that, as our president we should this man should be able to tell us all his beliefs, but clearly through his speech he has not. Another interesting nuance in this whole agenda is the fact that John F. Kennedy was a staunch religious man and no one doubted him as much as Mitt Romney.

Well you can decipher for yourself if this article means something or if it is just blabbering about something that no one cares about. I will ask that you post your opinions about Mitt Romney's faith and if the country is overreacting.

The Second Interesting article that I have found is about the ongoing trial of the CIA's destruction of prisoner interrogation tapes. After hearing about this last week I was wondering what this would lead to, or if it would play out as a major news piece. Well to my satisfaction this case has played out, and here is the information as it sounds right now.

About a couple years ago, I first learned that there was a prison in Guantanamo Bay specifically for Prisoners of War. Later on, as I recall I heard of various scandals where the lieutenants were abusing the prisoners that had no fair trial. This was at first an outrage to me, until i heard something that made me flip out. The reasoning for this base outside of the mainland of U.S. was because the constitution does not apply to them first because they are not citzens and second because they aren't on U.S. soil. This corruption was wicked to me and I started hearing more and more abuse cases and sexual harassments charges. As time went on, the name of the prison started to disappear and until this article I had forgotten about the place.

Well here is what is going on now: The CIA has been caught for destroying interrogation tapes. Their reasoning was that they were trying to protect "the identities of the agents."To most people this is an attempt to hide the torture tapes to save themselves from the law. Now there is a huge case on it, and this could easily turn out to be the next Watergate scandal. My personal opinions about this article are, that first the CIA has no right to hide the tapes from the Judaical System and second that, the fact that this happened in 2005, and no one has looked into it is ridiculous. Well no more waiting here is the article, decide for yourself what you think.
